Halifax Regional Municipality Launches Refreshed Website

Wednesday, May 28, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality has launched a refreshed and more accessible website, www.halifax.ca, showcasing the Halifax brand and new visual identity recently approved by Regional Council.

Improvements were based on research that indicated the type of information people look for on the municipality’s website and the way in which they prefer to access the information online.

The refreshed site provides a contemporary design and more intuitive user experience for visitors.

Other improvements to www.halifax.ca include:

• Navigation and menus provide easier access to relevant information;
• Website is responsive, adapting to fit different screen sizes;
• Ability to easily access and view the website using mobile devices;
• A site-wide feedback tool allows users to flag issues and make suggestions.

This represents a major step forward in the planned improvements for www.halifax.ca. Additional enhancements to functionality and overall user experience with the website will continue to be implemented over the next year.

In addition to the strong brand presence reflected in the refreshed website, the Halifax brand roll-out will continue throughout the municipality over the coming weeks and months, on everything from transit buses to municipal signage.
