Thursday, July 17, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that a section of Gottingen Street will be closed this weekend for the Police Chase fundraiser benefitting Special Olympics Nova Scotia.

Starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, July 19, Gottingen Street will be closed between Cogswell Street and Rainnie Street. There will no parking during the closure. The street will reopen after the runs are complete, at about 11 a.m. Saturday.

Police Chase is an annual fundraiser that includes 1K and 5K events. At any point during the runs, participants can be “pulled over” by uniformed officers at police checkpoints, doling out big smiles, warning tickets and prizes.
