Street Closures - Downtown Halifax

Friday, Dec. 5, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that a number of downtown Halifax streets surrounding the Nova Centre construction site will be closed to traffic starting next week to accommodate crews working on the water infrastructure in the area.

Starting on Sunday, Dec. 7, and continuing until Friday, Dec. 12, the following streets will be closed to traffic overnight (6 p.m. to 6 a.m.):

  • Prince Street between Barrington and Market streets;
  • Argyle Street at the intersection of Carmichael Street;
  • Market Street near Carmichael Street.

In addition to this work, starting Monday, Dec. 8, and continuing until Sunday, Dec. 14, Argyle Street from Prince Street to Sackville Street will be closed during the day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Argyle Street will reopen to traffic overnight.

The sidewalks on all affected streets will remain open to pedestrians throughout the closures. As well, crews on site will accommodate access for local traffic and deliveries to businesses in the area.

The municipality apologizes in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause.
