Traffic Delays - Mi'kmaq Treaty Day Procession
Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that there will likely be some traffic delays in downtown Halifax on Wednesday, Oct. 1, as a procession marking Mi’kmaq Treaty Day makes its way to Grand Parade.
The procession of about 200 people will leave St. Mary’s Basilica on Spring Garden Road at about 10:30 a.m., turning left onto Barrington Street and travelling north to Grand Parade. Halifax Regional Police will be on site to direct traffic and accompany the procession through the streets.
Motorists should expect some traffic delays during the procession and are encouraged to use alternative routes, if possible. The municipality apologizes in advance for any inconvenience.
