Road Closures – Manulife Dragon Boat Festival

Wednesday, July 9, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that a number of streets in Dartmouth will be closed on Saturday, July 12, to accommodate the 17th annual Manulife Dragon Boat Festival on Lake Banook.

Starting at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Prince Albert Road will be closed between Hawthorne Street and Sinclair Street to facilitate setup for the festival and participating vendors. At 7 a.m., Banook Avenue and Boathouse Lane will also be closed to vehicular traffic.

There will be no parking on any of the closed streets. All of the affected streets are scheduled to reopen at about 5 p.m. Saturday.

The Manulife Dragon Boat Festival is an annual fundraiser to benefit the Nova Scotia Amateur Sport Fund. The Sport Fund helps increase sport participation by supporting community-based programs throughout Nova Scotia. To date, the festival has raised more than $1.37 million for this worthwhile cause.
