Thanksgiving Day solid waste collection notice

Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014 (Halifax, NS) - The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that there will be no regular municipal solid waste collection services provided on Thanksgiving Day, Monday, Oct. 13, 2014. Collection of garbage, organics or recyclables normally scheduled for Monday Oct. 13, will be provided the preceding Saturday, Oct. 11.

The Otter Lake Waste Processing and Disposal Facility, the two composting facilities and the municipal recycling plant at 20 Horseshoe Lake Drive will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Monday, Oct. 13, but will be open on Saturday, Oct. 11 with normal operating hours.

The municipality’s residential Household Special Waste (HSW) Depot will be closed Saturday, Oct. 11, but will be open the following Saturday, Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
