Media Advisory

Media details for Halifax Central Library infrastructure event

Thursday, May 1, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – Further to a joint media advisory sent earlier today by the federal, provincial, and municipal governments, there are some key requests being made of the media in anticipation of tomorrow’s infrastructure event.

The media tour will be restricted to a limited number of accredited media due to the fact it is still a construction site and safety concerns have to remain a top priority.

Media outlets are required to respond as soon as possible to Brendan Elliott (elliotb@halifax.ca) with the names of media representatives requesting attendance. The deadline for submitting these requests is 3 p.m. today (Thursday).

All media personnel wanting to go inside the building during the tour are required (no exceptions) to arrive at the site with the following safety equipment:

  • Hard Hat - Class 'E' Type 2
  • Safety Boots - CSA Green Triangle
  • Safety Glasses - CSA Approved

The official guided site tour will begin tomorrow (Friday) at 10:15 a.m. sharp. Media personnel are asked to report to the media tent inside the fence at the corner of Queen Street and Spring Garden Road between 9:45 a.m. and 10 a.m.

There will be no parking on site so please judge arrival times accordingly.
