Skip to content. Accessibility info.Friday, July 18, 2014 – The neighbourhood surrounding Black Street and Northwood Terrace in Halifax will come together to repaint the intersection artwork tomorrow, Saturday, July 19.
The community was the first to paint their street, in collaboration with the municipality, back in 2012. This pilot project gave birth to the Placemaking Program which permits neighbourhoods to apply to paint artwork on their residential intersection.
Residents and visitors are invited to come witness and participate in the street painting event happening from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A neighbourhood Street Party, hosted by Northwood, will happen on the south side of Northwood Terrace from noon until 11 p.m.
The event is supported by Halifax Regional Municipality, Northwood, North End Business Association, and the 4Cs Foundation.
Neighbourhoods across the Halifax region are invited to apply to the Placemaking Program. The tool kit and application form are available online at http://www.halifax.ca/culture/CommunityArts/Placemaking.php. Applications are due October 31, 2014 for neighbourhoods wishing to paint in 2015.
