Natural Gas Pipeline installation – Bayers Road

July 24, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that work will begin this evening (July 24), to extend the natural gas main on Bayers Road between George Dauphinee Avenue and just west of Vaughan Avenue.

Land drops will be in place during construction. A lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times. In an effort to minimize traffic flow problems no work will take place between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Work on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27, will require the decommissioning of traffic signals at the entrance to the Halifax Shopping Centre. During this time, the Bayers Road entrance to the shopping centre will operate as right-in and right-out only. A signed detour will be in place for those who arrive intending to make a left turn from Bayers Road into the shopping centre. Traffic control personnel will be on site to monitor traffic conditions.

Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Heritage Gas and the municipality apologize in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause.
