Reduced sailings from Woodside Ferry Terminal - July 2

Monday, June 30, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – Metro Transit and the Halifax Regional Municipality are advising residents that on the morning of Wednesday, July 2, sailings from the Woodside Ferry Terminal will be reduced.

Ferries will leave the Woodside Terminal at 6:37 a.m. and every 30 minutes thereafter, departing the Halifax Ferry Terminal at 6:52 a.m. and every 30 minutes thereafter. Normal 15 minute sailings on the Woodside route will resume at 2:37 p.m.

The Woodside route does not normally sail on Saturday, Sunday or holidays. Due to the expanded Canada Day sailings offered on Tuesday, Wednesday’s reduction is necessary to respect work and rest requirements of our ferry operators.

This Canada Day is the first Metro Transit has offered free ferry service on Alderney Landing and Woodside routes. Usage of both routes on Canada Day will be evaluated to determine what level of free service is offered in future years.

Metro Transit and the municipality apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
