Halifax Transit extends free service on Tuesdays for seniors

 

Friday, November 23, 2012 (Halifax, NS) – Halifax Transit will be extending their pilot program offering free service for seniors on Tuesdays until a report can be brought to Regional Council in the next few months for a decision on the future of this program.

In August 2012 Regional Council approved a motion to offer the program for a three month trial period, which would have seen the last day of the program on Tuesday, November 27. Halifax Transit will conduct an evaluation of the program for Council’s review and consideration, but in the interim free transit service will continue to be available to seniors 65 years and older on Tuesdays, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and after 6 p.m.
