Call to Order - The meeting was called to order at 6:08pm.

Review of Notes from July 22nd Meeting (corrections/errors/omissions)

Spelling correction: Alvena not Alvina

Motion by Anne, second by Maureen to accept notes as corrected.

Update :

a.   Harbour Solutions Project - They (HHSP) are unbundling the project now that HREP is no long the "contractor". Each piece of the project will be dealt with separately. With respect to the public information and consultation program, HHSP will take over responsibility. They will be hiring someone to coordinate. According to Mike Kroger, the footprint of the plant will not likely change and the roofline at the south end will be completely flat. Craig has asked that someone from HHSP come to a meeting and brief the committee. Craig was asked if HHSP will be hiring a local architect to design the exterior of the plant. It is felt that someone local would be knowledgeable about this community and its concerns.

b.   Letter to HRM Council - Craig distributed a copy of the letter that he sent to the Mayor (attached)

c.   Community Foundation - Maureen spoke about the Community Foundations of Canada (attached, for those on e-mail the website is:www.community-fdn.ca/starting/index.cfm

d.   Community Development Corporation - Presentation 16 September 2003 - We have invited Rankin MacSween from New Dawn to speak about this community driven economic development organization. This event will take place on Tuesday September 16 th at 6:00pm at George Dixon. Sharon to invite the people who attended our public meetings, churches, business community and the participants from the design charette.
