June 2009 marked the end of the planned 5-year Harbour sampling program. Additional sample sets were taken in August and November 2009 to provide summer-fall data. A decision was made to suspend further regular sampling, as no new information would be gained by continuing with the Halifax treatment plant offline. Regular sampling resumed in May 2010, anticipating operational status for the Halifax and Herring Cove plants, to confirm if the water quality objectives (click for details) are achieved. |
